Symbolic Self-Portrait
For the first Art project of Junior year, My teacher gave us a lot of flexibility in what we were suppose to draw. The only requirements were that you have to fill the entire page, you have to include traits and images that express and symbolize you, and you have to include a trace of your hand in some way. I love this project from the moment I heard it. Mainly because I loved how flexible the requirements were. So I decided to piece together exactly what symbolized me. I realized that the things that symbolized me the most were the my blended Iranian-American culture, the sports I grew up playing, and the hobbies that I learned to love. It was a great joy putting this art piece together because of how connected I felt to it. Especially when drawing my hand with the Iranian and American flag draw out of it. I feel that the connection that I had with what I was drawing is the reason that I turned out like as great as it did. My teacher then had chosen my image to hang up in the class.
