DESIGN THINKING METHODOLOGIES
The methodologies that we used were composed of 6 components Empathize, Define, Test, Ideate, Revise, Prototype.
Empathize= Empathize with the consumers of the product( Ex. "We have to feel the struggles that people with arthritis go through")
Define= Define the problem( Ex. "The handle might be to small to grip for people with arthritis")
Ideate= Ideate a idea (Ex. "Create a wider and gripper grip for the product")
Prototype= Create a prototype for the idea
Test= Test your idea
Revise= Revise the idea and prototype
REFLECTION
For this design, we were given no limits, we were enabled to add anything realistic or non-realistic to our backpack. When creating a design for a newer and better backpack, our first step was to empathize, we empathized with mainly teenage users. We surveyed ourselves for what we would like in the product, and what is a problem about the product. We concluded with a list formed with things that we need in the backpack. Since we had no limits on this design, we included quite a lot. Then we proceeded on developing 2-Deminsional designs with all of the mandatory needs included into it. We created images that projected different angles of the design. Then finally we pitched our product to the rest of our class, a group of teenagers and noted what they thought about the product. Our next step would have been to go back to redesigning based off the notes we had gathered from the pitched presentation but due to lack of time we didn't get a chance to do so. I think that the only thing that I would change about the process that my group and I had gone through is surveyed other teenagers then ourselves.
