1.What do you think “The whole world is a playhouse” means? What does it mean to you?
This expression I believe is derived from the Globe Theater’s motto, “totus mundus agit histrionem”, this expression when translated mean “All the worlds a stage.” To me, this phrase means that merely the world is just a platform for our imagination to run wild and free. And the stage is also to as a world, just a smaller world that you can create anything that you ever hope to create, imagine, and experience.
2.Do you enjoy comedies, tragedies, or histories more? Why?
Personally, what type of genre that I prefer is generally changing based off the mood that I am having at the time. Most of the time thought usually I prefer a tragedy because of how significant the conflict in the piece becomes. Comedies tend to lose my interest because of the lack of conflicts that they tend to possess.
3.What intrigues you most about Shakespearean theater? What questions do you still have about Shakespeare?
I haven’t experienced Shakespearean theater much but of what I know and like very much about the famous play style from Renaissance England is the complexity and passion of the plays. I would like to further understand and become more familiar with Shakespearean theater.
